It’s December!

Everyone came to our house Saturday night for a birthday party. Then, on Sunday, I helped a friend with her open house. Last night, my husband and I went to the symphony. This afternoon, my friend Olga is coming from Austin, and tonight Olga and I are going to our book club’s annual Christmas party. And, tomorrow I’m going to a band concert to hear my friend Elizabeth perform.

Elizabeth is a sixth grader at our neighborhood elementary school, and I am her once-a-week mentor.

It’s December. I’ll admit that I woke up this morning feeling a bit overwhelmed.

But I am convinced that there are two ways of looking at this December busyness. One is to feel frantic! Sometimes that is exactly how I feel. But, I remind myself that it’s much better to stop and count my blessings—friends and family and loads of interesting things to do. Most important, I remind myself to remember this is the season of peace and love. I’m looking forward to some quieter days next week.
