I went to see Oliver Goldsmith’s play “She Stoops to Conquer” twice at Shakespeare in the Park in Dallas. And, I enjoyed watching the play and eating my chicken salad even more the second time.
What Goldsmith once said about books applies to plays. “The first time I read an excellent book, it is to me just as if I had gained a new friend,” he said. “When I read a book over I have perused before, it resembles the meeting with an old one.”
