Summer mornings and afternoons

“Summer afternoon,” Henry James once said. “Summer afternoon. To me, the two most beautiful words in the English language.”

In Dallas, where it can be 80 degrees at 6 a.m. on an August morning, I like to take an early morning walk when it’s still almost dark. It’s cooler. And, during my walk, I can watch the sun slowly make all of the the darkness disappear.

I like summer—especially summer mornings.

  6. Today, I went to the beach front with my children. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She placed the shell to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear. She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is completely off topic but I had to tell someone!
