Since the early 1970s, Judy Norsigian has worked as an author and editor of nine editions of Our Bodies, Ourselves to help educate women about sexuality and reproductive health.
Today, abstinence education has become pervasive and pockets of ignorance persist, Norsigian recently told an audience at Southern Methodist University in Dallas.
On one of her many visits to college campuses, a young woman told her, “I know a lot of smart women, and a lot of them think that using condoms makes it easier for you to get sexually-transmitted diseases.”
