Endless forgiveness

I read Boris Pasternak’s Dr. Zhivago, all about the horrors of World War I, the Russian Revolution and the Russian Civil War.

By the time I finished the book, I was feeling a little down, but I found a good remedy to cheer me up. I spent a few days in Mitford with Father Tim and Cynthia. The books in Jan Karon’s Mitford series always make me feel happier and a little more optimistic about the world.

I particularly like the title of this Karon book—Somewhere Safe with Someone Good. I am very grateful that I am somewhere safe with someone good.

And, I really like the quote that Karon uses at the end of the book: “Love is an act of endless forgiveness.”
