Tonight, I’m going to sit on the sofa and read a book. Reading is good for you!
Of course, I enjoy reading, and I already knew that reading is a good thing to do. However, I was pleased to read that “people who frequently read for pleasure are 52 percent less likely than reluctant readers to develop mild cognitive impairment.” That information is from a study reported in the Journal of Neuropsychiatry and Clinical Neurosciences, and I read about it in the August 2012 issue of Better Homes and Gardens.
I found the article in a pile of important papers I had saved. I am happy I saved it, but tonight, after I read my good book, I’m going to finish going through that old pile of papers.
