If feeling significant is a central issue for all of us, think about how important it is to help others feel significant.
When you’re talking to someone, are you distracted or are you really listening and trying to understand? Making the effort to listen is an important way that you can make someone feel significant.
When your child or someone else is annoying you, ask yourself what is motivating that person. Is that person doing something annoying because he or she does not feel significant? What can you do to help that person feel significant?
Have you said thank you to all of the people who have played a significant, positive role in your life? If you haven’t, you might want to tell them thank you now.
