Last night before I went to bed, I complained to my husband, “I can’t believe I have to get up and do those stupid exercises again.”
I have been doing exercises every morning again and again and again since I broke my leg last year in March. I have been doing them for a year and a half.
And, I will keep doing them because my leg is much stronger. And my knee doesn’t ache as much. And I can tell that everything feels better after I do my exercises.
But I’ve learned that I have to do them as soon as I wake up. If I delay, it’s much harder to get them done. Also, I find it easier if I listen to an audio book while I’m exercising.
However, the most important lesson I’ve learned is the best approach is to get out of bed when the alarm goes off—and get started. Do the first exercise. Then, the second. Do them one at a time. Until they’re done.
