We were sad when we read about Valeria Lukyanova, the 23-year-old Ukranian woman who wants to look like a real-life Barbie doll, in the March 8, 2013, issue of The Week.
This young woman has undergone extensive cosmetic to create almond-shaped eyes and a huge bust that tapers to a 17-inch waist.
To maintain her figure, she eats only fruit and vegetable juices. “I’ve been on a liquid diet for a year now,” she says.
What’s even more disturbing is that, according to This Week, Valeria Lukyanova is “regarded as a spiritual leader by her millions of online fans.”
When will women realize that what’s inside their brains and their bodies is so much more important than what’s on their outside?
