What makes you angry?

My mother used to say that you can tell the size of a person by what makes him or her angry.

I thought about that quote recently when I got very angry at someone at the post office. I didn’t yell, but I felt like yelling. I wasn’t really all that angry at the post office. I was angry about something else, and it was easier to express my anger to the person behind the counter at the post office.

I checked, and it was Abraham Lincoln who said, “You can tell the greatness of a man (or woman!) by what makes him (or her) angry.”

Also, my mother used to say, if you’re angry about something, take action. Explain, calmly, why you’re angry. Talk it through. Or, take action to change something that upsets you.
