How am I doing? I have been escaping the pandemic by traveling to North Korea.
Really! My friend Jane gave me two books about people who escaped the horrors of North Korea—The Girl with Seven Names and A River in Darkness.
No matter how long this virus crisis lasts, I won’t run out of books. I have plenty of books, including two new books that I received for Mother’s Day—one from my daughter and one from my son!
“Reading gives us someplace to go when we have to stay where we are,” Mason Cooley once said.
Cooley was an English professor and an aphorist. I looked it up just to be sure and found out that he wrote aphorisms. Aphorisms are “pithy observations that contain a general truth, such as, ‘if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.’”
