Happy October!

I looked at my calendar and panicked. So far this month, I have been to Los Lunas, New Mexico, to visit my brother James and his family and to Tulsa, Oklahoma, to attend the memorial service for our good friend Edward Dumit.

Next week, I’m flying to Salt Lake City, Utah, where I will spend six days as a delegate to the Girl Scout national convention. Then, before the end of the month, I’m going with friends from my book club to the Texas Book Festival in Austin.

Why is everything happening at once? I feel overwhelmed. But, after a day or two of panic, I decided that it’s silly to feel overwhelmed. Of course, I am going to be busy. But, I’ve been busy before. Instead of feeling panicked, I’m going to slow down and do one thing at a time, one trip at a time. I am thankful for all of my October adventures.
