Patience, not perfection

At the end of the day, often, too often, I still scold myself because I am not perfect.

Why do I continue to expect myself to be perfect when it is an impossible goal?

I need to remember what Saint Augustine once said, “Have patience with all things, but chiefly with yourself. Do not lose courage in considering your own perfections, but instantly set about remedying them. Every day begin the task anew.”
