Harriet Tubman, who soon will be featured on $20 bills, was born a slave. After she escaped to freedom, she returned to the South again and again to rescue more than 300 slaves.
Author Isabel Wilkerson, interviewed on the Diane Rehm show on National Public Radio, reported that one master beat Tubman and then declared that she “wasn’t worth a sixpence.”
“Now she’s going to be on the $20 bill,” Wilkerson said. “How’s that for karma?”
I checked, and you can buy a lucky sixpence for your shoe on Amazon for $7.79.

I think that it is very neat that she is going to be on the $20 bill!
