If you’re tired of eating lettuce and fruit and the healthy food you usually eat, give yourself a treat.
Menu fatigue can be a big problem whether you’re trying to be healthier or whether you’re on a space mission.
That’s right. The National Aeronautics and Space Administration is studying ways to avoid menu fatigue on space missions, and its experts consider adding variety to an astronaut’s diet an important priority, according to an article “The Gastonauts,” by Bonnie Tsut in the September/October issue of Pacific Standard magazine.
For astronauts and for ordinary people like us, menu fatigue can lead to a decline in morale and even health issues.
The next time we’re fed up with a healthy diet, we’re going to add some variety. We’ll try to find something interesting and different that’s healthy, of course, although we think an occasional unhealthy treat is okay, too.
