What does love look like?

Matt de La Pena wrote a children’s book titled Love.

He wants his child to know there is more to the world than the divisiveness he sees every time he turns on the television, he told The Dallas Morning News in an interview for its January 21, 2018, issue.

Every page shows visual examples of love. A dog comforts a child. A child watches a parent leave for work. An older brother fixes a breakfast of orange juice and toast for a sibling. “A slice of burned toast that tastes like love,” the author wrote.

“”2018 is for me the year of hope,” he says. “I‘m not afraid to talk about love everywhere I go.”
