What is integrity?

Recently I had a discussion about integrity with some friends.

According to the dictionary, integrity means “adherence to principles.” If you have integrity, you are good, honest and trustworthy.

My friends and I decided that sometimes you have integrity when you stick to your principles and don’t change how you think. However, sometimes, too, you need integrity to consider what you believe and decide what you once believed is no longer correct. It takes integrity and wisdom to be open to new ideas and to change.
