A pandemic diet

Lose weight fast! It’s easy. Results guaranteed!

When we took our canine companion Jack to the veterinarian last September, we got bad news.

Jack, our Brittany, weighed 55.1 pounds. That was too much Dr. Merrill announced.

She told us exactly how many calories Jack should eat every day. We checked the nutrient information on Jack’s dog food and calculated that Jack needed to eat one cup of food in the morning and one cup in the afternoon. That was exactly one half the amount of food we had been feeding him.

Poor Jack! Actually, he didn’t seem too bothered by his new diet—although, as soon as we offered him food, he gulped it down.

There’s good news. We just took Jack back to the vet, and he has lost five pounds. He now weighs 49.9 pounds.

Now my husband Jerry and I are thinking about promoting a new fool-proof diet. Just cut your food intake in half!
